The summit combines a digital conference with a two day hackathon, where it will be all about defining the future of mobility, sports, and health! Meet BIOFACH: the world’s leading trade fair for organic food with 13 halls, 2 convention centers, and almost 3,000 exhibitors. You are one of the over 50,000 visitors and you are supposed to find the most relevant exhibitors for your company as fast and comfortable as possible. You also want to visit exciting talks, explore new trends and meet new people — but you have only ONE day to do it all!

Help trade fair visitors solve their problem to identify what is really relevant to them by developing a smart matching solution based on their individual interests and needs. We will provide real visitor data (typical profiles and interests) as well as all information needed about the trade fair. Take this challenge and show us how you ensure your recommendations are specific for each visitor!

Let´s get to know BIOFACH — The world’s leading trade fair for organic food!

Hot facts: 13 halls | 2 convention centres | 3,000 exhibitors | 51,500 visitors from 144 countries | 4 days

With these numbers in mind, you might already sense the great magnitude of the trade fair. And with increasing size there comes increasing importance — take up the chance to be part of something big.

To fuel your initial ideas, meet two excited exhibition visitors and get a feeling for their current pain points!

Meet Anne - Anne works at a shop for delicacies, which is also specialized in wine. Her manager wants her to go to BIOFACH to look for new products to integrate into their offer and to learn about the hottest trends on new wines. She now faces the challenge to identify relevant highlights out of 3,000 exhibitors and 2,000 talks.

Puh! Anne is quite overwhelmed by the huge offer! She wonders how to select only the most interesting ones. She could use the printed exhibition guide and floor plan as well as the BIOFACH app and website. Moreover, she could make use of the search function for exhibitors and products. However, Anne gets frustrated quickly, since not all products and talks are indexed. Even if they are listed, they cannot be found by the search function. Let’s save Anne’s day!

Meet Michael - Michael is a manufacturer of organic beverages and visits BIOFACH because he wants to get some fresh impressions and impulses. Additionally, he is looking for new trends and products which can be relevant for his company. Since he is a networker by heart, he would love to meet interesting people. Not only to chat about the industry but also to create new projects and collaborations. Fully motivated he enters the first hall of the huge exhibition fair! Hmm, but where to start now?

Just like Anne, he could use the printed exhibition guide, floor plan, the BIOFACH app, and website. He quickly finds a list with the newest products, however not all of the exhibitioners mark their products as new ones. That’s why he decides to stroll around to find the right exhibitors, talks, and products. He stops at the novelty stand or stands of innovative companies, which seem to be pretty trendy. However, after a long march through the halls, he feels quite exhausted and still has not found any promising partners for new collaborations. It is frustrating! Looks like Michael could need your help!
