This year we get to look back at more than 85 startups we supported with our ZOLLHOF incubation program in the last 5 years. We raise our hat to all the startups we got to work with so far — not only are they boosting our economy with their game-changing ideas but they also made a real impact with the more than 800 jobs they created so far. This year we get to work with another awesome batch consisting of 11 startups. Amid global challenges these teams are brave enough to act upon their purpose and bring society forward with their innovative and impactful solutions. We could not be more proud to accompany them on their journey.

As a side note: 50% of our current batch consists of female-founded teams, 80% operate in Business to Business (B2B) and, being the Digital Hub Initiative’s Hub for Digital Health 4 out of 11 teams operate in the digital health sphere.

Breathment

Respiratory diseases are one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide. Breathment provides a web-based software including AI-technology for both health professionals and their patients, that digitizes pulmonary rehabilitation under the professionals’ control. It is an effective solution consisting of breathing & physical exercises.

Globemee

The team of Globemee has pivoted in the last few months and is now aiming to solve skill shortage through a globalized world of work. Their platform offers many advantages to both companies and job seekers from all over the world. The AI-matching-algorithm is designed to ensure long-term satisfaction.

Amperial

Unwanted heat in buildings and vehicles is a real problem and one that spikes energy use of e.g. air conditioning. A retrofit and switchable window film makes it possible to reflect solar heat whenever you want. As a result the product minimizes heat while still allowing daylight to get in.

Fyzo

Administrative work in physical therapy takes too much time in the treatment and patients are often left alone between and after the sessions. The team improves the treatment process in physiotherapy and thus the healing success of patients through a high-tech approach. The Fyzo Assistant is an app for the therapist that saves them 5 minutes per treatment.

F-50

There are approximately 4 million eating disorder patients in Germany. They often wait years to go to a therapy because of the attached stigma, no knowledge about the disease and many other reasons. With their AI-powered app the team wants to digitize eating disorder treatment to provide individualized treatment for patients. Hereby they support them and their therapists on the road to recovery prevent eating disorders by offering extensive information and raising awareness for this topic across society.

Parents often still have to decide between their job and a career, because of a lack of trusted, flexible childcare. Heynannyly aims to empower families with their B2B HR tech solution. They make the life of working parents more flexible, reduce mental stress and give family friendly companies a real boost for their employer brand.

Myriad

The current food production damages the climate, that’s no secret. Modern agriculture uses up to 50% of habitable land and accounts for 70% of the world’s water usage. Myriad uses space technology to create resource-saving, autonomous gardens that fit into every apartment. Plants grow twice as fast in this garden and a Gardening-AI helps inexperienced users get predictable, reliable harvests from the beginning.

PCB Arts

Edge-AI solution providers require specific hardware interfaces for their use case, but can only acquire them through engineering services. These are rather expensive and cause long lead times. PCB Arts rethinks the way edge-AI hardware is realized by providing dedicated hardware solutions. With EdgeKit they offer the first modular Edge-AI hardware solution that can be configured by the customer, making it cheaper and faster compared to engineering services.

WeSort.AI

Incorrectly dumped lithium batteries cause significant fires in waste sorting plants. These cause average costs of 193k€/year and insurance premiums of 100–500k€/year per plant. The special WeSort AI technology makes it possible to recycle more materials, 10 times purer and at a lower cost.

Zentur.io

Nowadays district heating is not as efficient as it could be. The team of Zentur.io aims to make district heating supply more efficient, transparent and greener. Their vision is to make urban heat supply possible without using fossil energies and provide a solution where they collect, combine and evaluate data for more transparency and understandable information for the end customers. Zentur.io even enables a better integration of renewable energies.
